The Thirty-Something Malaise

When I first read that Kevin Smith was working on Clerks 2, it sounded a little silly... maybe a way to make up for Jersey Girl [which was actually a damn fine flick that just got burned by BenLo or whatever it was].

But then you see the idea.

"It's about what happens when that lazy, 20-something malaise lasts into your 30s."

I'm getting far too close to that.

I haven't felt much like writing lately. Not sure why. I can't get my head clear enough to write anything on here or away from here.

I know I'll never get around to doing anything more of a review so... I liked Eragon. It was a good read and should make an excellent flick. If you dig any kind of sci-fi/fantasy stories, go check it out... and then marvel that it was written by a teenager. A teenager who is living his dream while we all dig ourselves deeper into what we settled for.

Is it too early for a mid-life crisis?

I will still do my Mixtape explanation... not today though. I need to be at home to do it and I won't get a chance to be home for lunch today.

Oh, and fuck Vince McMahon. Putting Rey Rey in the main event as an afterthought is crap... it's better than nothing but it's crap. You're really testing my statement that I'd always buy Wrestlemania.

It always eeems like most great artists have a drug habit. Maybe _that's_ what I'm missing. Who am I kidding though? I couldn't afford it.

How's this for lack of cohesive thought?

I'm fairly certain I'm a few days from being fired... and I'm fairly certain it'd probably be the best thing to ever happen to me except for the sudden and abrupt lack of money to pay my bills.

In an Avenue Q moment, I wish I could go back to college.

I feel old lately. Which is kinda silly, I guess... but so, so true.

Deep sigh.

"Looks like someone's got a case of the Thursdays."

Question of the moment: When people around you find the most exciting thing to look forward to is a once-a-month drinking binge, have you reached the proverbial fork in the road?

Philosopher supreme Stacy Orrico said it best, "There's got to be more than life than this."
